Christmas is on its way so buy a good present

Why not purchase Stephen McQuoid's book as a present? We have a special offer on the book of £5 + p/p. This would be an excellent gift for any guy that you know - be he a relative or a friend. Help someone to walk with Jesus and encourage him in his Christian witness.

For many years both ‘Christian Men Together’ and ‘The Commission (Man Alive)’ have had a close working partnership. ‘CMT’ have sought to encourage fellowship amongst, and outreach to, men through the local church and have organized many events & resources. ‘The Commission’ has been for the last 15 years an annual event of Bible Teaching and encouragement for Christian men.

We are very happy to announce that - with immediate effect – ‘The Commission (Man Alive)’ and ‘Christian Men Together’ will be merging under one Board. We believe this new Board will give fresh impetus, vision and opportunities as together we seek to play our part in advancing the Kingdom of God among men of Scotland.

Over coming months the new Board will seek our Lord’s guidance as it reviews strategy and plans for the future. In the meantime, we will be dropping the company name ‘Man Alive’ but continue to operate under the title ‘Christian Men Together’. The new Board will continue to organize ‘The Commission’ along with other events and resources. A further update will be given in due course.

We would greatly appreciate your prayer support during this period of transition, especially as it takes place immediately following the retiral of CMT’s Scottish Manager, Allan Robertson.

To those who give regularly to the work we would like to express our sincere gratitude, and would encourage you to continue that support, and so encourage the new Board as it sets about its task.

As we continue to plan, here are two important dates for your diary:

Friday 24 October 2014 – Men’s Curry Evening with David Robertson. Full details at

Saturday 7 March 2015 – ‘The Commission’ at Newton Mearns Baptist Church – Full details will be announced shortly.

We covet your prayerful support as we seek to work together as one organisation.

Football and faith

CMT is running a football tournament in conjunction with South Glasgow Church.

This is an outreach event and will be held on Tuesday 20 May at Roukenglen Park in Glasgow. There will be eight teams taking part and after the serious action there will be pizza and drinks. Each player will also be given a copy of the Penny Gospel specially produced by the Bible Society for the Commonwealth Games.

Curry Night at The Ashoka

Great night with our partners More than Gold at The Ashoka on Sat 29th. There were over 150 men packed in to enjoy some fine curry, a sports quiz from Christians in Sport, and an interview with Linvoy Primus, ex-Portsmouth footballer. CMT also had a slot on the programme and we were able to advertise our 5 a side football tournament in May. We also encouraged others to use the format in their area. There were a number of enquiries at the end. If you are interested in running a similar tournament in your town then do get in touch. We can supply the details. It is an ideal way to do some form of outreach whilst enjoying yourselves as well.
